Frosty Strawberry Dessert
This light and fluffy Frosty Strawberry Dessert is ideal for a warm summer day. Strawberries, whipped cream and egg whites are complimented by a crunchy and sweet walnut crumble in this delicious frozen dessert.
- 2 cups fresh strawberries diced
- 2 egg whites
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup walnuts finely chopped
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In a medium size bowl, combine flour, melted butter, brown sugar and chopped walnuts.
Sprinkle into a baking dish and bake 15 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a large bowl with a hand mixer, combine egg whites, lemon juice, diced strawberries and sugar. Beat on high speed for 10 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
Whip the cream in a small bowl until peaks form.
Fold whipped cream into strawberry mixture.
Assemble desserts by sprinkling walnut crust on the bottom of serving container, add a layer of strawberry mixture, and repeat. Sprinkle the remaining walnuts on the top and freeze for 6 hours.
