Papa's Grilled Corn on the Cob

An easy and foolproof way to cook corn on the cob on the grill. The corn steams in the husks before roasting to perfection.

  • 4 ears sweet corn
  • 4 gallons cold water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Kosher salt
  • black pepper


  • Trim ends of husks to remove excess silk.
  • Soak ears in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat grill to high. Oil grill grates when hot.
  • Grill corn in husks 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes.
  • Remove from grill then remove husks and silk.
  • Brush with butter, salt and pepper to taste.
